M-Pesa Africa – Evergreen Requisition Specialist – Cyber Security Prevent

In this dynamic role reporting to the Manager of Cyber Security Prevent & Defense (M-Pesa Africa), the Specialist – Cyber Security Prevent at Evergreen Requisition is entrusted with multifaceted responsibilities.

Acting as the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for Cyber Security in one African Market and serving as the backup SPOC for another, the specialist will play a pivotal role in supporting both Level 1 (L1) and Level 2 (L2) activities for the Privilege Access Management Solution.

The core responsibilities include addressing a spectrum of tasks such as User Access issues, switchovers, patching, and troubleshooting.

Additionally, the specialist will assist in the remediation of vulnerabilities, contribute to patching and systems hardening, and provide maintenance and support for various cybersecurity systems.

These systems encompass, but are not limited to, Firewalls, Web Application Firewalls (WAF), Antivirus solutions, Logging Solutions, and Network and Host IDS/IPS.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The key responsibilities include to;

  •  Coordinate optimization of the Operational & Monitoring Defense cyber security baselines (CSB) controls across all M-Pesa Africa relevant business areas and processes
  • Optimize and maintain respective Monitoring Cyber Security controls and requirements across M-Pesa Africa environments
  • Ensure all M-Pesa and third-party systems’ products, services and projects are compliant to the M-Pesa Africa minimum security Monitoring requirements and Cyber defense Cyber Security Baselines (CSBs) 
  • Be responsible for the set-up, execution and maintenance of the security incident management and coordination process in conjunction with incident management capabilities
  •  Support all internal and external audits around Technology systems and processes, ensure these systems are free from known Technology audit findings and ensure all audit findings in these systems are closed within agreed timelines.
  • Support compliance with Legal, Regulatory and key stakeholders’ requirements across the Technology domains
  • Ensure proper monitoring implementation and change management processes compliance for all planned and emergency changes in Technology systems
  • Set-up analytics framework and tools and drive simplification of key cyber security processes 
  •  Drive internal and third-party service review meetings covering performance, service improvements, quality and processes
  • Support information security awareness and training to all MPA users and third-party vendors
  • Coordinate incident planned and emergency communication processes to both internal and external audience.
     

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, Electrical Engineering, Telecommuncations or related IT field
  • At least one professional Information Security Qualification: ComptiaSecurity+/CCNA Security
  • Intermediary competencies in Network Security
  • Intermediary competencies in Microsoft, Linux or Unix Operating Systems administration
  • Intermediary competencies experience in Information Security Technologies
  • Minimum of 3 years Network Security experience with with Intrusion Prevention Systems, Web Application Firewalls, VPN administration, Content Filters, Security Scanning tools.
  • Minimum of 1-year focused Security experience in Privilege User Access Management solutions;
  • Experience in design, delivery and support of Information Security solutions to customers will be and added advantage
  • Experience in the use of security tools.
  • Project management skills, and proven task execution (getting things done). 
  • Superior Report writing skills and good communication skills.
  • Good communication and collaborative skills.

M-Pesa Africa – Evergreen Requisition Manager Cyber Security Defense

Will be reporting to the Head of Cyber Security (M-Pesa Africa).

According to the advert:

“The Manager Cyber Security Defense, will be responsible for proactively identifying threats and vulnerabilities; detecting and mitigating cyber events; and managing cyber security incident responses to minimize service impact and provide a secure digital future for our customers.”

The person will also coordinate operations of the Cyber Security Defend stakeholders and team, Implement, Upgrade, maintain and Refine End-to-End Security Monitoring, timely manage Proactive & Reactive Security Incident Management Processes, and ensure adequate CAPEX\OPEX budget.

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science,  IT, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunations or related IT field

  • Advanced competencies in Network Security: CCNP or CCIE (Security)
  • Advanced competencies in Microsoft, Linux or Unix Operating Systems administration
  • Advance competencies experience in Information Security Technologies
  • Minimum of 5 years Network Security experience with Security Monitoring and Incident Management processes tools.
  • Minimum of 1-year focused Security experience in Incident Management, Intrusion Analysis, Network troubleshooting or Reverse Engineering.
  • Experience in design, delivery and support of Information Security solutions to customers will be and added advantage
  • Experience in the use of security tools.
